Although the weather seems to be giving us a blast of an Indian summer over the coming few days, we are today announcing our pre-Christmas extended opening times. They've proved very popular in the past at both Christmas and in the Cambridge Open Studios season, when we saw plenty of evening visitors this year!
So, what are these extended hours we hear you ask!
We will be bringing back our 'Late Night Wednesday' extended hours for the 6 Wednesdays leading up to Christmas. So starting from 15th November and also happening on 22nd November, 29th November, 6th December, 13th December and 20th December we will be open until 8pm... we'll even be serving up mince pies and sausage rolls on our Late Night Wednesdays.
We will also be open for the first 3 Saturdays in December from 9am - 1pm, so that's Saturdays December 2nd, December 9th and December 16th. So, just when everything is getting extra busy and you need to be in more than one place at the same time we're going that extra mile to give you more time to be able to get in to see us. You want mince pies and sausage rolls on the Saturdays too? In that case that's what we'll do!
So, whether you are bringing in new work, collecting completed work or you just want to come in and chat through the services that we offer, we'll be very happy to see you both during our regular and extended hours.
We are very pleased to announce our first ever Christmas Appeal, something that we hope will become an annual event here at photoART GB.
We have teamed up with Cambridgeshire Social Care and have set up a Just Giving web page to collect money to buy underprivileged children and children going through a tough time, Christmas Selection Boxes. Every penny that is donated will go towards brightening up a child's Christmas, and that really can't be a bad thing can it?
Our friends at Cambridgeshire Social Care had the following to say...
"Social care and other agencies work are committed to working with and supporting families to make sure their children are safe, healthy and enjoy similar life experiences as other children. As part of the hard work and commitment to providing high quality social work practice for the children and families in Cambridgeshire the support by local communities and businesses makes a huge difference to providing some basic necessities that may be we all take for granted in family life: this is why we sincerely appreciate any assistance you are able to give and with your kind and generous donations will support and benefit the families we work with
In the county council, as you may be aware, we are in the midst of facing unprecedented times with the challenges of austerity being experienced across the country. Here in Cambridgeshire we have a rapidly growing population, it is an attractive place to live, work and bring up families.
In Children’s Social Care, we are working with children and their families with a range of needs in their daily lives. For many this is a temporary crisis resulting from various life events and circumstances which destabilise the way the family behave and look after each other and those people around them.
Whilst families in the main do not welcome social workers in to their lives, we do achieve positive change with many of them and these families either close or are referred to other agencies. Despite the need for interventions, building respectful relationships with parents, carers, children and wider families and friends is vital to our work. We are very mindful that some families are affected by poverty, debts, unemployment, low income, which may impact on their ability to prioritise day to day living needs."
If you would like to help us in our quest to raise £250 to buy some much need Christmas cheer in the shape of chocolate Christmas Selection Boxes then simply click on this link which will take you directly to our Just Giving page. Hopefully we can make a small difference to some children that are not having the best of times this Christmas.
On behalf of the children that will receive a Selection Box we thank you.
Well, I don't know how busy your week has been, but if it's been even half as busy as our week here than you definitely deserve a sit down with an hour of 'feet up' time this weekend!
We started the week by packing up some frames (finished over last weekend) for Mark Morgan at Triple Espresso, so that they were ready for him to take down to The Classic & Sports Car Show which is being held at Alexandra Palace from 30th Oct - 1st Nov. There were four A1+ and six A3+ limited edition giclée prints produced here, signed and numbered by Mark and then framed in stylish contemporary black frames. Even if we do say so ourselves they were looking great when Mark came to pick them up and if you have a look at the Triple Espresso Twitter feed you will see how great they look in a little video he has taken at the show! We hope the show is a massive success for you Mark!
Talking of Twitter feeds we have just announced two new feeds from us here in Pampisford. Our original account will still be very much up and running and alongside that you can now get Tweets direct from the Print Studio and from the Framing Workshop, all of which means you can now directly tweet them too for any help and advice that you may require. Go and give them both a follow and we'll make sure that the accounts follow you back. We're not going to bombard you all with Tweets from these 2 new accounts, but it will be nice to be able to showcase some of the work and projects going through the building.
This week has also seen the announcement of our ever popular extended opening hours in the run up to the Christmas period. We will be open until 8pm for six consecutive Wednesdays starting from November 16th. We will also be open from 9am - 1pm on Saturday 3rd December, 10th December & 17th December. Our extended opening times have proved very popular in the past, so this year we have decided to make them bigger and better than ever before, giving you even more chance to find time to get in and see us. Whether you are dropping work off to us, picking up completed work or just coming in to see us to find out what we are all about here and how we can help with your giclée print, artwork copying and framing requirements, we'll be very happy to see you. We might just break open some boxes of Mince Pies during our extended hours too!!
On top of all the above we've supplied numerous quotes to potential new clients this week, sent out paper samples, met with new clients and in between all of that we've produced more great giclée prints and framing. So, we think we might just find time for a deserved sit down over the weekend too.... and of course we all get an extra hour in bed this weekend when the clocks go back at 2am on Sunday morning!
With many years experience of image handling gained in the traditional photographic darkrooms behind them, Gary and Bob have transferred their knowledge and skills to the digital arena. photoArt GB prides itself in the level of personal friendly service provided, and we're always happy to talk through your specific requirements with you, tailoring our services to each individual clients needs.
